TUJIAMINI by SportPesa: Our Journey so far

Launched on 29th February 2024, Tujiamini has made a progressive move to the point it’s currently at. Three months into it and the initiative has created a positive impact, not only on the winners with the dreams of attaing their dreams, but also on their communities and the sporting ecosystem.

Keen on discovering and supporting talents and sports around Kenya, Tujiamini by SportPesa has successfully covered two regions, with over 8,000 applications from Central and Eastern – North Eastern regions, and has already moved to the 3rd region North Rift, the home of champions on this month of May.

The initiative has so far awarded over KShs 3,000,000 in the three categories Gold, Silver and Bronze to different individuals and teams including an annual 3-year football sponsorship and is yet to give more as they progress.

 

Launch day.

 

To start off the campaign, Tujiamini awarded two football clubs Megastars FC and Rockstars FC with a 3-year annual sponsorship worth Kshs 250,000 on the day of the launch. On top of the financial support, Tujiamini has also provided them with home and away kits to boost the teams. The initiative goes an extra mile to check on their progress by joining them on their training sessions and increasing their media coverage on fixture days.

 

Shoot 4life, a grassroot basketball team based in Eldoret emerged gold winners bagging KShs 500,000 to boost their team. The money was dedicated to facilitating their transportation and accommodation in away fixtures.

 

A few silver winners were also awarded on the day of the launch, among them being The Rouge Rugby Podcast, a team of professional rugby players awarded ksh100,000 worth of recording equipment to aid in their skills off the rugby field.

 

To extend their good will, the initiative awarded Patric Odongo a hundred thousand Kenya shillings to aid in his father's medical bill.

 

Central Region.

 

Not a so hub of sports, Tujiamini made central region their business as the first region to visit immediately after the launch in search of talent and sportsmanship to support.

 

Topping the central submission was Samuel Muturi, a29-year-old Kayaking ace from Kirinyaga who earned himself a half a million(500,000)-gold award to support his unique sport. The award has not only impacted him but also his 20 teammates who will benefit from the sporting equipment acquired with the amount.

 

At the Cheza Dimba awards, Kirinyaga stars claimed the3-year sponsorship deal worth 250,000 annually. The team also received a brand-new set of home and away jerseys and other playing equipment such as balls to support their football journey.

 

Silver and bronze winners were not left behind either. Kenya's seventh strongest man Kennedy Mwangi was recognized for his hard work and determination in the gym and awarded with ksh100,000 worth of gym equipment and supplements to help him achieve his dream of conquering Chris and Stephen record and challenge them for the Title of Kenya’s strongest man in the coming years.

 

Eastern-North Eastern Region.

 

In the spirit of impacting talents and sportsmanship all over Kenya, Tujiamini hit its second stop in the Eastern- North Eastern region on the month of April and has currently closed its submissions.

 

Tujiamini is in the process of unveiling winners in that region on the 3 categories, Gold, silver and bronze as well as the Cheza Dimba Tournament which took place on the 12th of May in Kinoru Stadium, Meru County. The tournament was the determiner of the football team that will get the 3-yearsponsorship worth KSh 250,000 annually and was luckily claimed by Ikuu SpiderFC, a grassroot football team in the Eastern region.

 

North rift region.

 

Time waits for no man, as a back-to-back initiative, Tujiamini has already moved its campaign to North rift region, the home of champions, to hunt for more talents to support.
