For athletes across the North Rift region of Kenya, the chance to receive vital support for realizing their sporting dreams is coming their way this May.
Tujiamini, the groundbreaking initiative by SportPesa providing crucial resources and funding to the Kenyan sports community, is embarking on an extensive roadshow tour through Meru, Nandi, Uasin Gishu and Transzoia counties.
Tujiamini by SportPesa Kenya was launched to give Kenyan athletes, teams, clubs and sports organizations at all levels the backing they desperately need to take their game to new heights. Through monthly rewards across four award categories, the program is distributing millions of shillings worth of equipment to passionate sports participants nationwide.
The upcoming North Rift roadshow will visit several towns within the north rift valley region from May 8-31, stopping in Nkubu, Maua, Kapsabet, Eldoret, Kitale and more to connect directly with the sports community.
"We're extremely excited to hit the road and engage face-to-face with the incredibly talented athletes in the North Rift region," said Pius D Shiundu of DBA Africa. "Our mission is to uncover that untapped potential and give it the resources to thrive on the national and global stage."
Athletes aged 18 and over have the chance to apply for Tujiamini's Bronze Award (KSh 10,000 prize), Silver (up to KSh 100,000), and Gold (up to KSh 500,000) award categories. The simple application process involves submitting an online application with a short video highlighting their sporting talents and ambitions.
The roadshow will also be advertising the Tujiamini Cheza Dimba tournament, where shortlisted football sides playing regional league and below can compete for the "Cheza Dimba Award" - a comprehensive 3-yearsponsorship package provided to one regional winner each month.
With 87 beneficiaries selected across the four categories, the life-changing impact of a Tujiamini initiative can mean access to better training facilities, equipment, coaching, sponsorship, travel to competitions and more.
The North Rift roadshow schedule includes stops in:
- Meru County: May 8-12 (Tournament on May 12)
- Nandi County: May 15-17
- Uasin Gishu County: May 18-19, 22-25
- Transzoia County: May 26-31
