Rockstars FC defeated Nakalira FC 1-0 in an entertaining derby match at Kamkuywa Primary School in Bungoma County on Sunday.

Rockstars F.C are currently placed fourth in the Western Regional league standings with 24 points and are hoping to continue their winning ways to see them gain promotion.

The club is on a roll after being announced as the first recipient of the Tujiamini Cheza Dimba Award an initiative by leading online gaming firm SportPesa. The sponsorship comes with new playing kit and allocated funds to the value of KSh 250,000 for the remaining 2024 season.

The journey of Rockstars FC is similar to many regional sides in Kenya with their determination and love for the sport outweighing the significant challenges faced by lower league teams. Prior to being crowned Tujiamini Cheza Dimba first recipient the team relied on contributions from well-wishers and donations, fortunately they have had a dedicated fan base and community able to support them.

Tujiamini hopes that with the assistance the Cheza Dimba award brings will see the club achieve the goals and dreams of players, fans, and administrators of the club, while also have a positive impact on the community.

As Rockstars FC continues to excel on the football field, their story calls for change and sustained support, ensuring that talented athletes in marginalized communities can show their talents and fulfill their dreams.

Tujiamini will announce its newest recipient to join Rockstars and Megastars FC in April, with competing sides coming from Central region, followed by Eastern/North eastern in May and North Rift Valley in June. Teams wanting to apply should submit an online application and a short video showcasing the current state of their club, talent and their goals as a club.
