The Tujiamini initiative Central region applicants will be judged by renowned Kenya Rugby Union Peris Mukoko and Murang’a Seals coach Juma Abdallah.
Peris Mukoko a former Kenya Lionesses, former KRU head of women’s rugby, world rugby trainer and world rugby qualified referee will join Current Murang’a Seals head coach Juma Abdallah as an invited member of a 5 person panel.
The panel will have the responsibility of scoring a shortlist of applicants to determine the overall winner of the Jiamini Gold and Silver categories.
The Gold category is the most prestigious award, with one winner receiving products or services valued up to KSh500,000, while the silver award will see 5 applicants win products or services valued up to KSh100,000.
With over 6000 applications flooding the Tujiamini office across the first month of the initiative, competition is tight. The Tujiamini initiative by leading gaming firm SportPesa, has 4 distinct categories hoping to empower and uplift Kenya’s most talented. The initiative is going regional with Central being the first region to see their applicants awarded.
Both Peris and Coach Abdallah bring a wealth of knowledge and experience as they as they assist the Tujiamini staff in ensuring that all applicants are judged on fair manner.
Coach Juma Abdallah also has a impressive resume and wealth of experience with stints at various professional football clubs such as Thika United, Bidco United, Congo United, KCB FC, Chemelil Sugar FC, FC Talanta, and Western Stima, prior to taking the reins as the SportPesa sponsored Murang’a Seals head coach.
Each month Tujiamini will invite esteemed members of the sports and talent community to sit on a judging panel and score a shortlist of applicants. Applicants are scored across a variety of sections, from backstory, talent and skills, future potential, impact and meeting the overall Tujiamini initiative objectives. More details can be found on the Tujiamini website.
The two esteemed members of the sports and talent community will be joined by 3 SportPesa staff, to make up a total panel of 5 Judges. Judges are required to score each shortlisted applicant out of 50, with the total of the 5 judges determining which applicants are successful.
Sportpesa who are behind this groundbreaking initiative are going a step further than just awarding prizes, which is why they have employed DBA Africa to assist in following up and ensuring successful applicants are putting their talents to good use.
DBA Africa which has a track record of managing and developing athletes across a variety of sports and talents hopes that through Tujiamini, Kenya’s most talented individuals and teams are able to get that bit of support needed to help them push their talents to the next level.
Already with the bronze Category, which gives applicants the change to win KSh10,000 we have seen hundreds of requests for sports equipment, balls, boots, music instruments, microphones, art supplies to name a few. The hope is that Bronze applicants will aim to apply for Silver and Gold and push their dreams and talents that little bit further.
The next region to be awarded will be Eastern and North Eastern, with applications closing April 30th.
