Cheza Dimba Tournament Heads to Eldoret After Success in Kirinyaga and Meru

Football fans in Eldoret and the larger Uasin Gishu county have something to look forward to this Weekend as the popular Cheza Dimba tournament makes its way to the region. Hill School will proudly host the upcoming edition of the annual tournament to take place this Saturday 15th June 2024.

Six teams will compete for the fantastic three-year Tujiamini sports sponsorship package in the tournament's first year of existence. The Tujiamini sponsorship has been a game-changer for previous Cheza Dimba winners, providing much-needed financial support and resources to nurture their talents.

Cheza Dimba by leading online gaming firm SportPesa aims to nurture young talent and provide a platform for upcoming football stars to showcase their skills. The tournament attracts teams from all corners of the county in various age categories, making it an exciting spectacle for players, parents and fans alike.

Organizers are expecting record participation this year as interest in the tournament continues to grow. "We have received an overwhelming number of registration inquiries from regional and community clubs across North Rift" said P D Shiundu, the tournament director. "The enthusiasm for Cheza Dimba is immense, and we can't wait to see the talent that north rift is famous for."

The matches will take place on Hill School's sports grounds, which boasts 2 fields with excellent facilities for both players and spectators.

Cheza Dimba has been a resounding success in other parts of the country, most recently in Kirinyaga and Meru counties. The tournaments in those regions produced winning sides who are now able to reach higher towards there goals of gaining promotion to the bigger FKF leagues.

The winners on Saturday will walk away with the coveted Tujiamini 3-year sponsorship package. With Tujiamini going regional in its first year, all winning sides a hopeful of playing in an end of year tournament, competing against the best regional talents from throughout Kenya.

Fans can look forward to an action-packed schedule of matches starting July 16th at Hill School in Eldoret. The tournament promises to be a great celebration of regional football in the region, building on the success of previous editions in Kirinyaga and Meru.
