Cancellation of the Western Region Cheza Dimba Men’s Tournament

August 19, 2024

The Tujiamini Initiative made the decision to cancel the Western Region Cheza Dimba men's tournament, which took place on 2nd August 2024, due to non-adherence to the Cheza Dimba Tournament Rules and Regulations by the participating teams. Specifically, all the men's teams fielded ineligible players, resulting in their disqualification from the tournament.

However, in the women's tournament, Greenblades SPASS followed all tournament rules and emerged as the rightful winners. In recognition of their adherence to the tournaments principles and their outstanding performance, they were awarded the SportPesa sponsorship worth KSh 250,000 per year for 3 years, along with home and away kits.

The Tujiamini campaign, along with SportPesa and DBA Africa, aims to uphold the highest standards of integrity in all its initiatives. Integrity is of utmost importance to us, and we remain committed to the support and development of grassroots football, which is the cornerstone of the Cheza Dimba tournament.

Our decisions are always guided by the principles of fairness and transparency, ensuring that all participants have an equal opportunity to showcase their talent in a fair and just environment. We reiterate our commitment to continuously delivering empowering and impactful tournaments in the region in the future, as part of our ongoing Tujiamini initiative.
