Basketballers Shoot4life dream of reaching Kenya Basketball Premier League, after qualifying for Division 1 finals.

·        Tujiamini Gold Winners, Shoot4life keep their dreams alive after last weekends action.

·        The side will face stiff competition to secure promotion to KBPL.

 

Shoot 4 Life, The Eldoret-based basketball team and Tujiamini Gold Award winners, had an exhilarating end to their season in the Kenya Basketball Federation league Division 1. After being named Tujiamini Gold Award winners earlier in the season, receiving KSh 500,000 in sponsorship from SportPesa, they have extra motivation to finish the season strongly, and go on to achieve their dream of being promoted to Kenya’s top level of competition.

 

Trailing the top teams by a few points with just three games remaining in the regular season, their hopes of qualifying for the playoffs was on the line. In the penultimate game against the Coastal Kings, Shoot4life kept their hopes of an upset alive up until the final play, going down 51-54.

 

The next match against Snipers was another tight contest.Shoot4life's talented defence stepped up, keeping the snipers to a respectable score, narrowly losing out 58-49. With the first two games not going their way, It all came down to the final game against JKUAT.

 

Coach Emmanuel Omwisikwa ralllied his troops digging deep out a narrow win against JKUAT. It was a nail-biting finish, butShoot4life pulled through 55-52 to keep their season and dreams alive.

 

Their 5th place Division 1 finish ensured Shoot4lifequalified for the playoff finals which will kick off in two weeks' time. The non-profit organization who uses the power of basketball to empower Eldoret's youth have shown that hard work pays off with a chance at promotion to the Premier League.

 

As they prepare for the crucial playoff matches, Shoot4lifeknow they would need to be at their very best. But with their Tujiamini sponsorship backing them, and the community's support, they are ready to show they truly belong among Kenya's basketball elite.
